Brett Marshall, Corban Joseph, and Mykal Stokes

Brett Marshall was the 6th round pick for the Yankees out of Ross S. Sterling High School in Texas. The young pitcher displayed great velocity, having improved by a few mph from the previous season to the 94-96 range. He still has some inconsistencies with control, but that is something that he will be working on as he plays in the minors. Marshall throws a fastball, plus slider, and a change-up.

Corban Joseph is a shortstop out of Franklin High School in Tennessee. He was named the state’s high school player of the year and was dratted in the 4th round by the Yanks. He had a tremendous senior year with a batting average of .510 and 15 home runs. Both of these stats show that he can hit for both power and average, a great combination for any hitter.

Center fielder, Mykal Stokes, was drafted 1250th overall by the Yankees. He went to Tustin High School in California, where he batted .432 during his senior year. He hit for 14 RBI, had a .476 OBP and racked up 41 hits in the 26 games he played.

Corban Joseph’s stats almost sound like a young Jeter…and Brett has an interesting artillery…he needs to consistent with his speed as that is when his change-ups start taking affect…

Yankees do have a good scouting team…time and again they are able to find some talent or at least nurture them into Major league material…

In Oppenheimer we trust :) He has certainly done an excellent job so far in revitalizing the farms and he really knows what he is doing.

I agree about Marshall, but I don’t know about the Jeter comparison because Marshall isn’t nearly as fast as Jeter was back then.

corban joseph is a freak..saw him in high school…thought he was a second rounder…he is a steal and has great speed.

Corban is a beast, played aganist him in high school. Struck him out once and he also hit a bomb on me.

Yankees will trade Joseph…he will be ready in 2012 for the big leagues. Once in he has the potential to be a all star for years to comeThe Yanks should try to keep him,but I believe they have so much depth in the middle infield
