Joba Gets 9 K’s in Yankees Win
Posted by M. Patel under News
Joba Chamberlain led the Yankees to victory today, but he got yet another no-decision. Joba pitched for five and two-third innings and looked solid for the most part. He struggled with his control on some pitches again, which led to three walks, but he was able to clean up his messes. Also, the majority of the pitcher’s throws were great and he ended with nine strikeouts! Joba was upset with the no-decision, but he understands the pitch-count limitations and accepts them. In addition, the Yankees won, which is what really matters at the end of the day.
After Joba was pulled, Jose Veras, Kyle Farnsworth, and Mariano Rivera efficiently pitched the rest of the game without letting up any runs. The final score of the game was 2-1.
As you can tell by the score, the Yankees offense had a bit of an off-day today. They combined for only five hits, the same as the Padres. Jose Molina and Alex Rodriguez got the two RBIs of the day as they drove in Melky Cabrera and Derek Jeter, respectively.
Again, what counts at the end of the day is that the Yankees got the W. Next up are the Cincinnati Reds, who we play at 7:05EST tomorrow.

A very solid win tonight. I really think Mo was the deciding factor in this game, but the team played well as a unit. Maybe it’s that Purple drink Mo is promoting, but the team is really turning around.
I’m new to this commenting stuff but I have tried that Purple drink that you are talking about. I see why Mo is promoting it. I love the stuff and it’s great for your health. They have a great write up on Mariano Rivera at their website it is http://www.drinkpurple.com

I had heard about the drink he was promoting, but hadn’t seen what it actually was until now. Thanks for the link Turk Smith and I hope you both stick around
