Spring Training Games Begin

Yesterday the Yanks played the USF (University of South Florida) Bulls in the first spring training game of the year. The Yanks rolled past them 11-4 with Rodriguez driving in three runs and Posada driving in two. Jeter had a couple of runs and drove in one as well. Joba started the game and pitched two scoreless innings with two strikeouts. Everyone seemed to have a pretty good day, except for one player. That one player is none other than Kei Igawa, who was the reason we didn’t shutout USF, since he aloud a pinch-hit grand slam in the sixth. It’s not like he was tired or anything either because he was put in during the sixth. He came in and walked two guys, hit a player, and threw a wild pitch before allowing the grand slam. So why didn’t we trade this guy when we could?

On a better note, the Bombers take on the Philles today in their first MLB exhibition game for 2008. I am really excited because I really want to see how our young guys do this year. The game is currently in the bottom of the 1st and it is 3-0 Yankees (thanks to Shelley), I will update later with the outcome.
